Fitter - Fife

2020 Recruitment are working with a Glenrothes based engineering client who are looking to add a Fitter to their team.

This is a 6 month contract but is likely to be made a permanent position for the right person.

Working 10 hour shifts, 4 days a week between Monday and Friday depending on what shift you are on.

The Role:

As a Fitter, this position is responsible for the day to day maintenance of mould tooling and basic machine maintenance required to optimise production. This also includes the assembly of new tooling.

Duties & Responsibilities:

As the Fitter your duties will include the following:

  • De-burr, polish and clean finished components ready to be delivered to the customer
  • Pack finished components securely and safely ready to be shipped to the customer
  • Load and un-load transport vehicles as and when required with use of the forklift
  • Operate designated tools safely and competently, ensuring that all HSE and housekeeping standards are maintained
  • Interpret engineering drawings from sketches, existing drawings, and electronic images identifying the most efficient, cost effective solution without compromising quality or safety
  • Plan and schedule workload according to weekly production schedule highlighting any key areas which may prevent meeting weekly targets
  • Ensure that all procedures/paperwork is completed, kept up to date and signed off by the relevant person
  • Demonstrate desire and willingness to promote and ensure that 5S principles are adhered to
  • Carry out other duties as and when business requirements dictate as may be reasonably expected by line manager

Requirements

To be considered for this position you must have the following skills and experience:

  • Good hands-on experience, working with metal components
  • Forklift experience (No license required, just experience, as in-house training will be given)
  • Health & Safety experience
  • Hand Vibration tools experience
  • Good general hands-on experience. This includes securely packing finished items ( items between 20kgs – 2T)
