2020 Recruitment are working with our Fife based engineering client who are looking to add HV Winders to their team.
This is a permanent contract and offers the opportunity of career progression as well as working for a market leader within their industry.
The Role
As the HV Winder, you will be performing miscellaneous operations involving dismantling, rewinding, repairing, reassembling, static testing, etc.
Duties & Responsibilities
As the HV Winder your duties and responsibilities will include the following:
- Dismantle, rewind, reassemble, and static testing of AC/DC motors and associated equipment including gearboxes
- Rewind various motors, generators, and armatures. Install coils on various pieces of equipment
- Attending on-site to remove and install AC/DC motors and associated equipment
- Inspection of electro-mechanical equipment for damage and evidence of electrical malfunctions
- Testing the condition of windings according to International Standards
- Document all relevant data specific to the unit’s electro-magnetic characteristics
- Dismantle and / or strip damaged or unserviceable electro-mechanical equipment
- Complete required paperwork for each job accurately and on a timely basis
- Ensure that risks and hazards in activities undertaken in the role are acknowledged and conducted in accordance with processes, procedures and measures in place to mitigate risks
Skills & Experience
To be considered for the HV Winder role you must have the following skills and experience:
- Five years of experience working in an electrical/mechanical repair shop environment
- Formal recognised apprenticeship in electrical engineering
- An ability to communicate well with the team at all levels to discuss, liaise and negotiate work related tasks effectively
- A can do and flexible approach, willing to apply and adapt to different circumstances
- An ability to handle challenging situations
Package
As the HV Winder you will be offered the following package and hours:
- Hourly rate of £15.50 with an increase after 6 months
- Overtime
