Inventory Control Specialist - North West England

2020 Recruitment are working with one of our engineering clients who are looking for an Inventory Control Specialist to join their Crewe based team.

This will initially be a 6-month contract but may be extended at the of this time.

After a few weeks of training this role will be available as a Hybrid position.

The Role

Working closely with the Transport Team, Order Management and Agent Support, the Inventory Control Specialist is also expected to consistently find low cost, highly efficient solutions to both planned and unplanned requirements, holiday cover for manual scheduling of the business.

Success in the position is dependent on strong leadership, interpersonal, influencing, operational capability, change management, strategic awareness, understanding of products and markets served and business acumen skills along with the skills to engage the commercial organization to ensure commitment to and participation in asset management.

Duties & Responsibilities

As the Inventory Control Specialist your duties will include:

  • Manage dead/obsolete stock. Working closely with depots and the commercial teams.  Ensure stock optimization across the entire supply chain and manage the re-deployment of dead/excess stock where practicable. 
  • Responsibilities of the asset team include: MRP reviews, High demands, using STIP to change customer SCN, Workbooks and AACs from commercial team for approval, hold stock, deleted lines, material extensions, development of weekly test requirements to ensure that assets are in the right place to allow customers’ orders and agents STO’s to be replenished, Cancelled process order reports.
  • Control the traded process, ensuring cylinders in correct locations to send to be filled, controlling customs paperwork in line with the Brexit guidelines, running weekly reports and leading weekly meetings with the commercial team and resolving issues such as out of test stock, liaising with vendors to arrange testing of said products. Drive improvements to ensure that the region is supplied to meet demand.
  • Manage the process, proactively running reports, creating orders, invoice queries, dealing with agent support and order management when required.
  • Dealing with shipping to and from the UK to Dublin, and Various locations including manual scheduling of products moving between the sites and all associated customs, ferries, and queries relating to this.

Requirements

To be considered for this position you must have the following skills & experience:

  • Excellent PC skills with previous experience and knowledge of SAP
  • Capable of effective decision making in a pressured time constrained environment
  • Proactive and takes ownership for tasks, from initiation through to conclusion
  • Ability to follow processes logically & methodically
  • Ability to work as part of a team and be an integral part of the business
  • Flexible approach to work due to the nature of the business

 

Package

As the Inventory Control Specialist, you will be offered the following package:

  • 6 month temporary position with potential to extend further.
  • Training will be based in the office for a few weeks then hybrid/working from home
  • £13.85 pay rate per hour.
  • 37.5 hours per week, Mon-Friday 8am till 4.30pm
