Pipefitter - Renfrewshire

Pipefitters required for an immediate start in Renfrew for at least 4 weeks. This could be extended.

 

Role and Responsibilities

  • Ability to work with complex piping systems
  • Interpret engineering drawings and understand scope of works
  • Inspect and prepare sites for operations
  • Produce piping cutting lists
  • Install and secure pipes
  • Ability to weld using multiple processes
  • Experience welding and fabricating carbon, stainless, aluminium and duplex
  • Ensure all projects regardless of location are carried out safely and to a high standard.
  • Bolt / torque flanges
  • Working both in fabrication workshop, and on site as and when required.
  • Promote good housekeeping for an efficient working environment.
  • Undergo training programs where necessary
  • Ensure timesheets are filled in correctly as shown and be punctual.
  • Extensive knowledge of oil and gas/marine and structural welding/fabrication works and standards.

 

Qualifications and Experience Required

  • An NC/HNC in pipefitting preferred or ECITB certified pipefitter
  • At least 5 years’ experience in the above role.
  • Manual Metal Arc (MMA)
  • Tungsten Inert Gas (TIG)
  • Metal Active/Metal Inert Gas (MAG/MIG)
  • Gas shielded Flux Cored Arc Welding (FCAW)
  • Oxy-Acetylene cutting/welding
  • Machine/workshop power tools and machinery.
  • Broad knowledge of welding and fabrication operation and procedures as required for the role.
  • CSCS Card

 

Skills Required

  • Time served pipefitter / welder
  • Ability to calculate rolling offsets – desired
  • Competent hydro tester - desired
  • Ability to produce own cutting lists
  • Experience in pipe bending
  • Read and interpret drawings, ISO schematics and installation drawings
  • Attention to detail
  • Confident and with an ability to work unsupervised and work on own initiative
  • Has a desire to learn and develop within the role
  • Flexible – able to comply with company and client requirements
  • Act with honesty, integrity and accountability
  • Ability to work well in a team 

 

 

Rates

All rates below are PAYE. Umbrella is also offered for this position as well as £40 daily travel if travel requirements are met.

Dayshift

£17.46 – Basic + Holiday Pay

£26.19 – OT1 + Holiday Pay

£34.92 – OT2 + Holiday Pay

 

Nightshift

£23.22 – Basic + Holiday Pay

£34.83 – OT1 + Holiday Pay

£46.44 – OT2 + Holiday Pay
