Weekend Production Operator – Glenrothes

 

2020 Recruitment is delighted to be working with our local engineering client who is implementing a brand new weekend shift to their facility.

This is a great opportunity for those looking for part-time hours or anyone who is only able to commit to weekend shifts.

Initially a 12-week contract, at the end of this period you will become a permanent member of staff and will be given opportunities to progress your career.

The Role

As this is a new shift pattern within the organisation you will be exposed to opportunities that may not always be immediately available. This includes manager, team leader, and first aider positions.

As the Production Operator, you will be responsible for the testing and logging of electrical equipment whilst ensuring all information is accurate and targets achieved.

Working Hours

As the Production Operator your working hours will be:

7.00 – 17.00 Saturday & Sunday

Please note if you can only work a maximum of 16 hours we would still be keen to speak to you as there will be opportunities available for you also.

Duties & Responsibilities

As the Production Operator your duties and responsibilities will include:

  • Understand the process flow of the product
  • Understand where to find the current work instructions
  • To ensure customer requirements are met on time
  • To ensure that standards are met at all times
  • To ensure all transactions are carried out accurately
  • To ensure that all quality standards are met at all times and the unit is constructed as per work instructions
  • To be able to demonstrate the importance of health and safety within the production area
  • To ensure that tooling is suitable for the task in hand
  • Have an understanding of the principles of 5’s within the area
  • Have an understanding of the importance of escalating quality issues from suppliers

Requirements

Although no similar experience is required you must have the following skills & attributes to be considered:

  • Exceptional hand-eye coordination
  • Quality focused with good attention to detail
  • Must demonstrate the ability to follow work instructions
  • Preferred experience working in a target-driven environment
  • Basic PC skills
  • Good team player with good communication skills
  • Flexible approach and can-do attitude
  • Reliable
