We are supporting our global engineering client who is seeking a UK & I Fleet Project Engineer to join their team based at Carrington who will provide effective project engineering support for their UK & I Fleet Maintenance Team. We are seeking an experienced Project Engineer/ Mechanical Engineer with strong organisation, communication and teamwork skills. The primary function will be to review the historical Operating Procedures, Method Statements and company Risk Assessments.

This is an initial 6 month contract position that offers working from home 2 to 3 days per week. Must be able to attend meetings at other facilities based in Yorkshire and South of England when requested.

Key Skills/Experience

  • A sound technical engineering background is essential.
  • The successful candidates will be flexible with a strong technical ability and have a focus on health and safety.
  • Minimum 5 years’ previous experience in a project engineering role within a relevant industry, i.e. process/chemical manufacturing, automotive manufacturing, etc.
  • Technical qualification, minimum HNC/HND level in relevant discipline e.g. Mechanical, Chemical or Electrical Engineering.
  • Proven track record in successfully demonstrating strong project engineering discipline and theory with the ability to work well under pressure whilst having the capabilities to manage multiple priorities.
  • Evidence of previous performance in which strong technical and practical engineering skills have been demonstrated, preferably within the HGV fleet industry.
  • Determination and commitment to ensure all aspects of the role are fulfilled to the best of their potential.
  • Ability to demonstrate sound communication and presentation skills at all organisational levels relevant to the role.
  • Ability to influence non direct reports to ensure activities are completed as required.

 

Job Responsibilities

As a Fleet Project Engineer you will:

  • Establish performance KPIs and report out accordingly.
  • Create and manage a Project Plan.
  • Engage with Stakeholders within company internally and externally.
  • Work with Fleet Maintenance Workshop Manager and Supervisors on a daily basis.
  • Work closely with the Head of Fleet and Maintenance to agree priorities and deadlines.
  • Ensure project documentation and records are completed to the highest standards and in line with company requirements.

 

This is a 40 hour week Monday to Friday
