Project Manager (9-Month Contract)

Location: Frimley, Surrey

Rate: £38.00 - £58.00 per hour

Contract: 9 Months

Working Pattern: Initially office-based full-time with greater flexibility available once established in the role.

2020 Recruitment are delighted to be recruiting for an experienced Project Manager on behalf of a market-leading engineering business.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a highly respected organisation delivering complex projects across the energy sector. You will take ownership of multiple projects from initial handover through to final delivery, ensuring projects are completed safely, on time, within budget and to the highest quality standards.

The role will involve working closely with customers, suppliers, manufacturing partners and internal engineering teams across multiple international locations. You will also provide leadership and support to Project Engineers, ensuring project objectives are achieved while maintaining strong customer relationships throughout the project lifecycle.

This position offers exposure to a wide range of technically challenging projects, with opportunities to travel internationally as required.

Responsibilities

As the Project Manager, your duties and responsibilities will include:

  • Managing projects from tender handover through to final delivery and project close-out.
  • Ensuring projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget and to customer requirements.
  • Coordinating activities between customers, suppliers, manufacturing partners and internal stakeholders.
  • Monitoring project costs, progress, risks and performance while providing regular project updates and reports.
  • Supporting and mentoring Project Engineers throughout project execution.
  • Managing manufacturing activities, trial assemblies and installation support where required.
  • Building and maintaining strong customer relationships throughout the duration of projects.
  • Ensuring compliance with company procedures, quality standards and HSE requirements.
  • Identifying project risks and opportunities and implementing mitigation plans where necessary.
  • Supporting continuous improvement initiatives and contributing to wider business objectives.

Requirements

To be considered for the Project Manager position, you should have:

  • Right to work in the UK is essential. Sponsorship is not available for this position.
  • HNC/HND or equivalent qualification in an Engineering discipline.
  • Previous experience within a Project Management, Project Execution or Engineering Project Delivery role.
  • Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong understanding of project delivery methodologies and project lifecycle management.
  • Experience working closely with customers, suppliers and cross-functional teams.
  • Knowledge of budgeting, forecasting and project reporting.
  • Strong commercial and contractual awareness.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, P&IDs and technical documentation.
  • Excellent communication, planning and organisational skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and project management software.

Desirable Experience

  • Degree qualified in an Engineering discipline.
  • Project Management qualification or certification.
  • Experience within the Oil & Gas, Energy or Industrial sectors.
  • Knowledge of industry standards such as NACE, ASME, NORSOK or PD5500.
  • Practical site-based project experience.
