Welder - Fife

2020 Recruitment are working with out Glenrothes based engineering client who are looking to add a Welder to their team.

This is initially a 6-month contract but they are keen to speak to those interested in a permanent contract at the end of this period.

You must be experienced in MIG/MAG, FCAW, SAW and be time served.

Testing will take place on site.

The Role

You will be working 12-hour shifts on a 3 week rotation pattern. Days & Nights 3-4 shifts per week.

Duties & Responsibilities

As the Welder your duties and responsibilities will include:

  • Operate designated machine safely and competently, ensuring that all HSE and housekeeping standards are maintained
  • Carry out designated tasks as instructed
  • Interpret Engineering drawings welding components to defined dimensions
  • Interpret engineering drawings from sketches, existing drawings, and electronic images identifying the most efficient, cost-effective solution without compromising quality or safety
  • Plan and schedule workload according to weekly production schedule highlighting any key areas which may prevent meeting weekly targets
  • Attend team meetings, actively engaging in positive discussions regarding potential problematic areas
  • Identify technical issues and seek support to rectify them whilst offering solutions where possible
  • Record accurate job route time entry
  • Identify and report quality related issues to chargehand
  • Accurately describe events during quality related investigations, aiding the chargehand to understand the root cause where required
  • Willingly assist chargehand to eradicate identified potential areas of non-conformance
  • Respond to identified process improvements and implement them willingly

Requirements

To be considered for the Welder position you must have the following skills and experience:

  • Time served Welder
  • Experience of MIG/MAG, FCAW and SAW
  • Health & Safety awareness
  • Ability to pass testing on site

Package

As the Welder you will be offered the following package:

  • £20.78 - £22.63 DOE (includes shift allowance, paid on all shifts)
  • Minimum of 6-month contract
  • Potential permanent contract
