2020 Recruitment is working with our international engineering client who is looking to add a Balance Sheet Accountant to their team in Inverurie on a minimum of a 6-month contract.
After training is completed, this position can be a hybrid role with a split of 3 days in the office and 2 days working from home.
Monday - Thursday 8.30am to 5pm, Friday 8.30am to 3.45pm, 45 minutes lunch.
The Role
As the Balance Sheet Accountant you will be responsible for reviewing all balance sheet reconciliations/processes, investigate reconciling items, and ensure all balances are accurate, and fully supported. This position requires strong accounting knowledge, analytical skills, and attention to detail to ensure the integrity of financial data and compliance with company policies and accounting standards. System used in this role is Glovia.
Responsibilities
As the Balance Sheet Accountant your responsibilities will include:
- Review all balance sheet accounts in accordance with company policies and accounting standards.
- Investigate and resolve reconciling items, discrepancies, and variances.
- Maintain and document accurate account reconciliation schedules and supporting documentation.
- Prepare journal entries and adjustments as necessary to maintain proper general ledger balances.
- Review the current balance sheet reconciliation process and update it as necessary.
Requirements
To be considered for the Balance Sheet Accountant role you must have the following:
- Have a strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting
- Excellent numeracy and analytical skills
- Qualified technical Accountant (for example, ICAS, ACCA, CIMA)
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, specifically Excel
- Understanding of ERP system (ideally Glovia)
- Right to work in the UK
- Located within a commutable distance of Inverurie
Package
As the Balance Sheet Accountant you will be offered the following:
- Hourly rate of £28.20ph PAYE
