Bid Writer - United Kingdom

2020 Recruitment are working with a large engineering company who are looking to add a Bid Writer to their team. This is a hybrid position that can be located anywhere within the UK, however, you must be a UK national to apply.

The Bid Writer will assist in securing new business through preparation of high-quality bid submission documentation that clearly defines the company’s proposition.

The ideal candidate should possess excellent written and verbal communication skills, with an excellent attention to detail and the ability to articulate and translate technical information and be able to liaise effectively with all departments.

You should have a proven track record in bid writing or tendering, with relevant experience in a similar role. 

Key Role Responsibilities:


  • Manage enquiries database and distribute appropriately across the business.
  • Identify new business opportunities through management of procurement portals.
  • Ensure company presence on supply chain registers for existing and future clients.
  • Maintain annual update of supplier platforms and accreditations.
  • Develop high quality bid material that clearly lays out company solutions and proposals.
  • Compile bid submissions, liaising with technical experts for relevant input.
  • Develop and from time to time update standard company information materials.
  • Comply with and promote the company bid strategy.
  • Ensure timely completion and submission of bids to meet deadlines.
  • Create and facilitate post-tender bid discussions and meetings.
  • Coordinate clarification responses and meetings.
  • Maintain tender related documentation and ensure admin tasks are completed.
  • Possess excellent communication and networking skills and exhibit flexibility in working hours.
