2020 Recruitment is working with one of our engineering clients who are looking to add a Blaster Painter to their team in Kintore.
Initially a 12-week contract, but a permanent position will be offered at the end of this probationary period.

The Role
As a Painter, you will spray paint welded and fabricated units in accordance with the customers’ standards. The task demands the right first-time manner to maintain the Company’s high-quality standards within a fast moving production environment.
As a Painter, you will be keen to take on challenges, develop your technical skills potential as well as expand your knowledge and experience through a variety of exciting initiatives.
Duties & Responsibilities
As the Blaster Painter your day to day tasks will include the following:
- Operate designated machines safely and competently, ensuring that all HSE and housekeeping standards are maintained.
- Prepare and paint components used in the assembly and production
- Review Work Orders to ensure familiarisation with the requirements of the job
- To apply paint finishes including primer and top coat to a range of finished machined components using suction-fed spray guns. Paint spraying is carried out either open fronted, force ventilated booths or a wet collector spray booth.
- Checking of paint coverage by ensuring correct wet film thickness.
- Perform preventative maintenance as required
- Handle steel parts and visually inspect and sort according to finishing needs
- Ability to complete daily reports as directed
- Perform a variety of duties including surface preparation shot blast and cleaning.
- Cleaning of spray guns and lines.
- Preparation of components before painting may be required
- Spray products as required, insuring that paint is applied in a manner consistent with customer requirements and company quality standards
Skills & Experience Required
To be considered for the Blaster Painter you must have the following skills and attributes:
- Time served apprenticeship or HNC in a relevant subject
- Working knowledge of the Oil & Gas environment
- Have a background in an industrial painting environment
- Computer literacy (including good command of Microsoft Office Excel, Word, and Outlook).
- Ability to operate industrial painting equipment
Package
As the Blaster Painter you will be offered the following rate and package:
- Hourly rate of up to £14 PAYE
- 12-week contract
