Bookkeeper - Fife

2020 Recruitment are working with a Glenrothes based engineering company who are looking for a Bookkeeper to join their team on a permanent basis.

As the Bookkeeper you will be working within the accounts team assisting with the managing of financial records and transactions of the company.

To be considered for this position you must be an experienced Bookkeeper with recent working experience.

The Role

As the Bookkeeper you will work closely with the finance team to ensure accuracy, compliance, and efficiency in all financial activities. Your attention to detail, organisational skills, and proficiency in accounting software will be essential in maintaining the financial health of the organisation.

Duties & Responsibilities

As the Bookkeeper your duties and responsibilities will include the following:

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records using accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero).
  • Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions in a timely manner.
  • Reconcile bank statements and credit card transactions to ensure accuracy.
  • Prepare and submit invoices to clients and follow up on outstanding payments.
  • Assist with payroll processing and employee expense reimbursements.
  • Generate financial reports, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
  • Assist in budgeting and forecasting activities.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant accounting regulations and company policies.
  • Collaborate with the finance team to streamline processes and improve efficiency.
  • Support financial audits by providing necessary documentation and information.

Requirements

To be considered for the Bookkeeper position you must have the following skills and attributes:

  • Proven experience as a bookkeeper or in a similar role, preferably in the engineering or construction industry.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and MS Excel.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Familiarity with relevant accounting regulations and standards
