2020 Recruitment are working with our engineering client who are looking to add a Credit Control Assistant to their team in Inverurie.
This will initially be a contract position with a minimum of 6 months but may also be made permanent for the right candidate.
This would be an ideal role for a post-graduate as is 100% an assistant role.
Please note that this role is office based but after training 2 days/week WFH option will be available.
The Role
As the Credit Control Assistant, you will be a key member of the finance team with responsibility for administering accurate collection processes. You will ensure that the customer ledger is accurate; outstanding debtor balances are chased on time with repeated follow-ups; key business partners are kept up to date with debt status, trends identify and escalate issues/concerns where necessary. This role would also expect you to highlight, suggest and implement process improvements within the Accounts Receivable department.
Duties & Responsibilities
As the Credit Control Assistant your duties will include the following:
- To process A/R Cash Receipts
- Make regular contact with customers to ensure timely payment of invoices, logging all contact on appropriate internal systems
- Liaise with internal sales colleagues where appropriate
- To prepare accounts receivable reports as required by local management
- To prepare Accounts Receivable Watchlists for month end/quarter end reporting purposes
- Carry out other duties as and when business requirements dictate as may be reasonably expected by line manager
Requirements
To be considered for the Credit Control Assistant you must have the following experience:
- Previous credit control experience
- Experience with dealing with Sales & Customer queries
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Confidence and the ability to place pressure tactfully on individuals and companies who owe money.
- The ability to work under pressure
- Familiarity with computer systems and complex databases
- Initiative to identify improvements and drive to deliver change
