Electrical Cell Leader - Aberdeen

2020 Recruitment are working with our engineering client who is looking to add an Electrical Cell Leader to join their Kintore team on a temporary to permanent basis.

You will be the driving force creating a sense of urgency to ensure that the customer and stakeholders demands are met and continuously improved on an ongoing basis through the application of lean principles.

The Role

As an Electrical Cell Leader, in a multi-discipline workshop, reporting directly to the Production Manager you will manage a Cell of Electrical Technicians and be responsible for delivery of high quality equipment for on and offshore applications while utilising your technical knowledge and professional experience.

Duties & Responsibilities

As the Electrical Cell Leader your duties and responsibilities will include the following:

  • Plan sequence of assembly to achieve optimum efficiency & production flow for each WO scheduled
  • Be responsible for Cell workload in order to plan and schedule all deadlines
  • Monitor and optimise Cells performance to ensure a high standard of housekeeping in the work area and department is maintained
  • Responsible for the technical and behavioural mentoring of operators and apprentices within the Cell
  • Monitor overtime requirements including manning levels within Cell to complement capacity requirements
  • Ensure workload requirements are covered and instructions passed on to next shift
  • Liaise closely with the Production Manager for any scheduling variations & provide positive actions to rectify any issues
  • Monitor and optimise Cells performance to ensure a high standard of professionalism is maintained and that customer care is at the forefront
  • Ensure all equipment and tools are used correctly & kept in good working order, advising Manager of any requirement for replacements and reporting any breakdown or malfunction
  • Update Kronos on a daily basis
  • Attend production meetings when required
  • Assist in the preparation of the Cell annual equipment budget
  • Participate in interview process and make recommendations on prospective recruits
  • Ensure that the Cell has effective control of personnel including implementation of Company policies regarding time keeping, holiday planning
  • Contribute to induction training
  • Actively participate in the training of personnel, recommend training needs to the Production Manager and to evaluate the effectiveness of all completed training
  • Participate in Personnel Feedback Discussions for subordinates in accordance with company policy and procedures
  • Ensure quality procedures are adhered to, raise NCR’s and maintain material tractability throughout manufacturing process

Requirements

To be considered for the Electrical Cell Leader position you must have the following skills & experience:

  • Minimum qualification of HNC in Electrical engineering
  • Completed recognized apprenticeship in an electrical field
  • Experienced in managing and leading a team efficiently
  • Experienced working on projects
  • Current Valid CompEx EX01-04
  • Have worked alongside a Quality management system
