Engineering Maintenance Manager - Fife

2020 Recruitment are partnering with an international engineering company to appoint an Engineering Maintenance Manager overseeing operations across Fife and Lanarkshire.

This is a permanent, hands-on role responsible for leading and developing the maintenance team across both sites. You will oversee day to day maintenance activities, allocate responsibilities, and step in to support with maintenance work where required, ensuring high standards and operational efficiency are consistently maintained.

The Role

The role would suit a motivated and enthusiastic Engineering Maintenance Manager seeking to work in a fast-paced environment, the candidate will be experienced, have great communication skills, who is well-organised with an eye for detail and a strategic planner.

Duties & Responsibilities

As the Engineering Maintenance Manager your duties will include:

  • Manage maintenance personnel across all group sites
  • Create, maintain and execute preventative maintenance plans across the group. 
  • Project manage, supervise and coordinate the work of contractors, including permits to work
  • Liaise with manufacturing facilities regarding any HSE issue/concerns and breakdowns that may affect OTD and prioritise accordingly
  • Maintain system to ensure that reactive maintenance is executed based on priority and agreed service levels
  • Identify opportunities for cost-savings within the current group maintenance plans
  • Manage the maintenance and upkeep of the group facilities
  • Provide direction on possible improvements to groups maintenance and investment strategy
  • Review trend analysis for breakdowns and implement corrective action plans to improve on key machine downtime
  • Ensure all legislative requirements are met in terms of buildings, plant and equipment
  • Control maintenance costs and expenditure, including external sources
  • Work cross functionally across the group; including involvement in meetings and incident investigations
  • Investigate the availability and suitability of options for new premises, when required and plan for future development in line with strategic business objectives
  • Use performance management techniques to monitor and demonstrate achievement of agreed service levels and to lead on improvement

Requirements

To be considered for the Engineering Maintenance Manager you must have the following:

  • Experience in a similar maintenance, engineering-based

environment

  • Previous experience in the Oil & Gas sector is desirable but not essential
  • Supervisory/Management experience
  • Mechanically biased, but electrically familiar
  • Understanding of calibration systems
  • Comfortable working with outside agencies
  • Previous experience facilitating plant/factory moves
  • Excellent communication skills both orally and presentational.
  • Strong personality, highly assertive, well organised.
  • Self-motivated and analytical with reasoned, well balanced and calculated decision-making qualities.
  • Ability to mentor, manage and develop staff within the department.
  • Right to work in the UK is essential
