Engineering Manager - Fife

2020 Recruitment are working with an engineering client who are looking to add an Engineering Manager to their team.

This role will be based between their site in Methil as well as their head office in the West Lothian area.

Our client is open to the right candidate taking this on this position as either a contract or staff role.

The Role

As the Engineering Manager you will be responsible for the delivery of the prefabrication, installation and commissioning of multiple projects from client engagement to engineering, procurement, subcontracting, operations execution, and project close-out, ensuring compliance with specifications and company processes.

Duties & Responsibilities

As the Engineering Manager your duties will include the following:

  • Organise and coordinate all decommissioning and fabrication / installation engineering activities
  • Responsible for the engineering departments ability to deliver the quality, schedule, and cost expectations of projects
  • Identify and assist in the mitigation of project risks, management of change, and mitigation of liability, risk of schedule growth
  • Ensure that the engineering is carried out according to given requirements of HSE, quality, time and productivity. Provide the parameters to the engineering schedule and establish engineering design basis
  • Assist in the procurement process by providing technical input for the selection of piping materials, components, and contractors, while adhering to budgetary constraints.
  • Managing a small team of structural engineers, project engineers and draughtspersons
  • Create and maintain comprehensive documentation related to piping, structural and electrical scopes including drawings, specifications, reports, and project records.

Requirements

To be considered for the Engineering Manager role you must have the below qualifications and experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Structural Engineering or similar
  • 5+ years of project / piping engineering experience in process systems, piping design, installation and commissioning
  • Proven track record in a similar role
  • Experience managing staff, subcontractors and progress reporting of workscopes
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills
  • Ability to lead, motivate, resolve problems, and inspire a diverse workforce
  • Right to work in the UK
