Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Events Specialist leader to oversee large-scale sales conferences and manage related processes for trade shows and events across Europe on behalf of our client, a multinational corporation who supports some of the world's most innovative industries, from biotechnology to advanced manufacturing
.

This role requires a collaborative professional who can design strategies, oversee seamless execution, and consistently deliver impactful outcomes. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in event management, exceptional leadership skills, and a proven ability to create engaging experiences for attendees while driving measurable results for our client's business. This role can be located within the UK or Ireland. Will be on a temporary contract with a view to becoming permanent.


Key Responsibilities

Strategic Planning & Execution

  • Plan and deliver major sales conferences, trade shows, and events aligned with business goals.

  • Manage all aspects of event planning, including budgeting, logistics, marketing, and on-site execution - independently or in collaboration with external agencies.

  • Partner with cross-functional teams to ensure event strategies align with business objectives.

Team Leadership & Development

  • Lead, mentor, and inspire a team of event professionals, fostering a culture of creativity, collaboration, and high performance.

  • Oversee and manage external vendors, contractors, and partners to ensure high-quality delivery.

Process Optimization

  • Establish and refine standardised processes for event planning and execution to ensure efficiency, scalability, and consistency.

  • Leverage technology and industry best practices to continuously improve event quality and attendee experience.

Stakeholder Engagement

  • Build strong relationships with executives, sponsors, exhibitors, and attendees.

  • Act as the primary point of contact for all event-related decisions and communications.

Budget Management

  • Develop and manage event budgets, ensuring effective resource allocation and cost control.

  • Negotiate vendor contracts to secure competitive terms and conditions.

  • Monitor financial performance and ensure alignment with budgetary goals.

Event Measurement & Analysis

  • Define and implement event KPIs to measure success (e.g., satisfaction, engagement, ROI).

  • Use data analytics to assess event effectiveness, generate insights, and drive improvements.

  • Produce detailed post-event reports and recommendations for stakeholders.

  • Conduct surveys and gather attendee feedback to enhance future events.


Skills & Experience Required

  • Leadership: Proven ability to lead teams, inspire performance, and manage external partners.

  • Event Expertise: 10+ years’ experience in planning and executing large-scale events, conferences, and trade shows across Europe.

  • Strategic Thinking: Strong capability to design and implement long-term event strategies aligned with business objectives.

  • Financial Acumen: Experience managing budgets, contracts, and VAT compliance with strong analytical decision-making skills.

  • Communication: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.

  • Marketing Knowledge: Familiarity with marketing, digital campaigns, and promotional strategies to maximize event engagement.

  • Analytical Skills: Proficiency in event measurement, data analytics, and reporting, with the ability to translate insights into action.

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Communications, Marketing, Event Management, or a related field.

  • Global Mindset: International event experience preferred.
