2020 Recruitment is working with a global engineering company who are looking to add Industrial Paint Sprayers to their team in Manchester on an initial 3 month contract becoming permanent thereafter.
To qualify for this position you must have 2 years minimum experience working in an engineering environment as a trained Paint Sprayer, preferably qualified to Level 3 (NVQ) Industrial Paint Occupations and ideally 5 years plus working within an engineering environment.
Role & Responsibilities
• Prepare surfaces for painting by cleaning, sanding, and masking as necessary
• Select and mix paint colours to match specifications
• Apply paint to surfaces using a spray gun
• Ensure that paint is applied evenly and without drips or runs
• Monitor drying times and make adjustments as necessary
• Clean and maintain spray guns and other equipment
• Clean and store empty paint containers for proper disposal
• Maintain and change paint booth media filters and surface protectant coatings as needed
• Properly contain hazardous waste generated from normal paint shop operations
• Keep equipment and work area clean and orderly and perform basic preventative maintenance functions on equipment
• Follow safety procedures and wear appropriate PPE
• Communicate with team members and supervisors to ensure that customer orders are completed on time and to the required standard
Skills & Experience Required
• Proven experience as an Industrial Spray Painter or similar role
• Knowledge of painting techniques and materials
• Ability to mix and match paint colours to achieve desired results
• Excellent attention to detail working to tight deadlines
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Good communication skills
• Physical stamina and dexterity to stand, bend, and lift for extended periods of time
• Experience with using Heavy Lifting equipment / Overhead Cranes
Pay Rate: £17.93 flat rate nightshift
Hour of Work: Monday - Thursday 22.00–06.00 and Friday 22.00-04.30
