2020 Recruitment is working with one of our engineering manufacturing clients in Dunfermline, who is looking to add an IT Support Technician to their team.

The Role

As the IT Support Technician, you will design, implement, and maintain a management program to oversee all aspects of factory operations. The program will integrate Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and connect to an SQL database, managing everything from production line monitoring to purchase requests and quality inspections.

You will be based on-site and take the lead in ensuring this system is fully functional, training team members, and adapting it to meet the evolving needs of the factory.

Duties & Responsibilities

As the IT Support Technician, your duties and responsibilities will include the following:

  • Developing and managing a factory-wide management system integrated with SQL databases.
  • Automating workflows for production lines, purchase requests, and quality control.
  • Building and integrating inbuilt Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) within the management program.
  • Monitoring and reporting on factory performance through the program.
  • Training staff on system usage and troubleshooting issues.
  • Ensuring data integrity and system efficiency across all operations.
  • Collaborating with team members to refine the program based on operational needs.

Requirements

To be considered for the IT Support Technician you must have the following:

  • Experience in developing and maintaining management systems.
  • Proficiency in programming and SQL database management.
  • Program in Microsoft Access.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Experience in automating workflows or integrating SOPs into software.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.
  • The ability to work independently and take ownership of complex projects.
  • Live within a commutable distance of Dunfermline
