Machinist / Toolroom Technician – Midlothian | Permanent Role

2020 Recruitment are delighted to be working with a Midlothian-based manufacturer who are looking to expand their team with the addition of an experienced Machinist / Toolroom Technician on a permanent basis.

This is a nightshift position working Monday to Thursday from 10pm to 8am although depending on your experience you will be trained on dayshift before moving to nights.

The Role

Reporting directly to the Production Manager, you will be responsible for setting and running machinery, carrying out tool changes, and ensuring that all components produced meet strict quality and safety standards.

This role would suit a time-served mould maker, injection moulding machinist, or CNC machinist looking to take the next step in a progressive business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Setting injection moulding machines
  • CNC machining / toolroom activities
  • Tool changes and process optimisation
  • Production troubleshooting
  • Basic machine maintenance
  • Ensuring health & safety compliance at all times
  • Maintaining high quality standards

Candidate Requirements

To be considered, you should have:

  • Previous experience within a manufacturing environment
  • Experience setting and running machinery
  • Ideally experience in injection moulding or CNC machining
  • Experience with machinery such as Arburg, Billion, Sumitomo Demag & Sandretto, plus Wittman & Seppro robots (advantageous, not essential)
  • Live within a commutable distance of Midlothian
  • Right to work in the UK
