Maintenance Electrician - Fife

2020 Recruitment are working with our engineering client to recruit a Maintenance Electrician to join their team based in Glenrothes.

This is a permanent opportunity within a well established and growing engineering business supporting the Oil and Gas, Defence and Renewable sectors. The role will suit an experienced Maintenance Electrician looking to work in a fast paced production environment with strong long term prospects.

The Role

As a Maintenance Electrician you will play a key role in supporting production by ensuring all machinery and equipment is maintained in a safe and efficient working condition. Working as part of the wider maintenance team, you will be required to travel between local sites in the Glenrothes area and work a rotational day and night shift pattern.

Duties and Responsibilities

As the Maintenance Electrician your duties will include:

  • Responding to maintenance requests through the Pirana system in a timely manner
  • Carrying out fault finding and repair of machinery and equipment
  • Completing and closing maintenance tasks within the system
  • Performing planned preventative maintenance to minimise downtime
  • Supporting production teams with equipment requirements
  • Assisting with installation and commissioning of new machinery
  • Ensuring all work is carried out in line with health and safety procedures
  • Continuously identifying opportunities to improve processes and performance
  • Supporting with additional maintenance duties as required

Requirements

To be considered for this position you must have:

  • Previous experience in a similar maintenance role
  • 18th Edition qualification
  • Strong fault finding skills across machinery and equipment
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and schematics
  • Knowledge of hydraulics and pneumatics is advantageous
  • Experience using maintenance systems such as Pirana
  • Good communication skills and a proactive approach
  • Strong awareness of health and safety
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
