Maintenance Engineer - Fife

2020 Recruitment is working with one of our Fife based engineering clients who are looking to add a Maintenance Engineer to their team.

This role is a permanent position, and the successful candidate will be working on various sites throughout the UK.

The ability to provide excellent customer service and a high standard of work is essential for this role, along with experience of the marine environment.

 

The Role

As the Maintenance Engineer you be responsible for the maintenance and installation of signal markers and associated equipment at locations throughout the UK.

 

Duties & Responsibilities

As the Maintenance Engineer your duties and responsibilities will include:

  • Act as the company representative on third party vessels engaged in maintenance program.
  • Undertake installation, scheduled inspections repairs and maintenance to floating signalling and mooring systems.
  • Undertake installation, scheduled inspections repairs and maintenance to fixed systems
  • Ensure all activities are delivered within agreed time scales.
  • Ensure service reports are completed accurately and in a timeous manner to meet
  • Ensure fast response vessel and safety equipment is maintained in line with requirements
  • Develop and maintain excellent relationships with all stakeholders
  • Ensure correct and organised storage of Company and Client equipment where required
  • Inspect, test and condition report on equipment returned or held within storage
  • Undertake quality assurance checks on buoys and equipment
  • Ensure all work is conducted in full compliance with Company Health, Safety & Environmental Policies, associated site safety regulations and good industry practice.

 

Requirements

As the Maintenance Engineer you must have the following skills and experience:

  • Excellent relationship building and customer service skills - internally and externally.
  • Team focussed contributor.
  • Able to manage requirements and expectations of internal and external customers.
  • Ability to identify, analyse and solve minor problems.
  • Positive communicator and active listener.
  • Recognised health and safety qualification
  • Full clean UK Manual Driving licence or equivalent.
  • Good basic knowledge of Health & Safety routines
  • Experience of working in a high-risk environment.
  • Proficient in the use and application of a wide range of mechanical tools
  • Control of Work systems, Permit to Work systems, Confined Space Entry and Working at Height experience.
  • Lone working experience
  • Dealing with emergency situations.
  • Flexible Working Attitude
  • Prepared to work away from home at short notice
  • Prepared to travel as required of the task in hand
