Maintenance Technician - Fife

2020 Recruitment is working with a Fife based Renewable Energy client who are looking to add an electrical bias Maintenance Technician to their team on a permanent contract at their Biomass Plant.

This is day shift position and is suited to a Technician with a strong electrical background as well as a good understanding of Mechanical Engineering.

Salary dependent upon skills and experience.

The Role

Reporting to the Operations and Maintenance Coordinators, the focus of the Electrical Maintenance Technician will be to undertake routine and defect maintenance work to ensure the reliability, availability and output of the plant and equipment are achieved.

Key Responsibilities

  • Execute routine and non-routine maintenance activities in accordance with approved processes and procedures.
  • Provide out of hours support in ensuring that availability and output of the station is maximised at all times.
  • Investigate plant problems and identify solutions.
  • Prepare and present technical reports.
  • Maintain work and activity records.
  • Carry out continuous plant condition monitoring routines.
  • Ensure effective planning is in place with adequate and competent resources available.
  • Ensure that safe working practices and procedures are adhered to in line with the SHE Management System.
  • Provide cover for the day-to-day management of the Operations and Maintenance Coordinator role as required.
  • Supervise other staff and contracted personnel as directed by the Operations and Maintenance Coordinators.
  • Have the full understanding of cost implications and power generation within your areas of work.
  • The successful candidate will ideally be a competent Sertica and Rivo user with a high level of technical plant awareness, excellent problem solving skills, together with experience of site safety rules. You must have a ‘time served’ apprenticeship, and experience ideally within power generation/utility. You must be able to demonstrate excellent communication skills and IT skills.

Requirements

To be considered for Maintenance Technician role you must have the following experience:

  • Relevant time served apprenticeship
  • Power generation/utility experience
  • Previous experience within a maintenance role
  • Experience of Sertica and Rivo software
  • Ability to independently identify faults
  • Health & Safety awareness
  • Own transport

Hours and Benefits
