2020 Recruitment is working with one of our global manufacturing engineering clients who are looking to add a  Engineering Fitter to their team based in Dunfermline.

This is a great opportunity for someone to work with a global brand, within a unique industry as they create their first manufacturing site in the UK.

As the Engineering Fitter you will be offered a permanent contract with a view to taking on more responsibilities as the business grows.

The Role

The Engineering Fitter will be responsible for the building of industrial machinery as well as working with the core staff in ensuring the manufacturing site is fully operational. As the business develops this role will include maintenance and repair. The right attitude is key for this position as our client wants someone who will become a key member of the team for years to come.

Duties & Responsibilities

As the Engineering Fitter your duties and responsibilities will include the following:

  • Assembling automated machinery
  • Understanding how the machinery operates to train operators
  • Helping with the design and layout of the factory
  • Planned and reactive maintenance once fully operational
  • Working with the business owner to ensure the machinery is working to its full potential
  • Creating a plan for future maintenance

Requirements

To be considered for this position you must have the following skills and experience:

  • Previous experience as a Fitter working with machinery
  • Preferable experience operating and NC Mill
  • Ability to work in XYZ axis co-ordinates to understand the robotics of the machines
  • Programming of machinery preferable
  • Sound knowledge of erecting, installing, servicing and repairing a range of industrial machinery
  • Basic knowledge of welding and wiring
  • Ability to work with others and be a team player
  • A good working attitude
  • Due to location a drivers licence and own transport is advised
