2020 Recruitment is proud to be partnering with a national engineering client to find an experienced Mechanical Fitter to join their team in Peterhead.

About the Role
As a Mechanical Fitter, you will oversee the day-to-day operations of gas fields and generators at assigned sites. Your goal will be to ensure maximum electrical output while upholding the company’s high safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
In this role, your duties will include:
- Ensuring safe working practices and procedures are followed across all work areas.
- Supporting the implementation and supervision of health, safety, and quality procedures at sites.
- Conducting planned, preventative, and breakdown maintenance on generator sets and other associated equipment.
- Providing backup and on-call support for Operations Technicians at other sites.
- Maintaining accurate records of operations and maintenance activities.
- Taking and issuing gas field readings promptly to relevant personnel.
- Ordering and maintaining stock of consumable parts such as lube oils, filters, spark plugs, and fan belts.
- Performing routine stock checks of spare parts at site.
- Assisting in maintaining landfill gas collection systems and associated equipment.
What You’ll Need
To be considered for the role of Mechanical Fitter, you should have:
- Experience in operations and maintenance.
- Familiarity with reciprocating engines and/or related control systems.
- Relevant qualifications (BTEC level or equivalent).
- A valid UK driving licence.
- The ability to participate in a rotational on-call schedule.
- The right to work in the UK.
