Mechanised TIG Welder / Automated Welding Operator
Location: Fife
Pay Rate: £27.00 per hour plus shift allowance, increasing earnings to £33.75 per hour
Contract: 6 Months
2020 Recruitment are delighted to be working with a leading engineering manufacturer in Fife who are looking to recruit an experienced Mechanised TIG Welder / Automated Welding Operator on a 6 month contract.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a highly skilled team working on specialist engineering projects using advanced automated welding equipment.
The Role
You will be responsible for setting, programming and operating automated welding systems to manufacture high quality components to customer specifications whilst maintaining the highest quality and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
• Set, program and operate Polysoude and Fronius controlled vertical and horizontal welding rigs.
• Carry out GTAW (TIG) welding in accordance with approved welding procedures.
• Perform all welding operations to ASME IX standards.
• Complete weld data sheets and associated documentation.
• Read and work from engineering drawings and welding procedures.
• Ensure all components meet quality and customer specifications.
• Support continuous improvement and lean manufacturing initiatives.
• Work safely whilst maintaining excellent housekeeping standards.
About You
We are looking for candidates who have experience in one or more of the following:
• Time served Welder.
• Experience operating automated or mechanised welding systems.
• Experience with Polysoude and/or Fronius welding equipment.
• GTAW (TIG) welding experience.
• Experience with orbital welding would be advantageous.
• SAW welding experience would be beneficial but is not essential.
• Good attention to detail and a commitment to producing high quality work.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
