2020 Recruitment is working with one of our engineering clients who are looking for an Orbital Welder to join their team on a permanent basis at their facility in Glenrothes.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Preparing and setting up all welding equipment including power supplies and gas systems
- Operate orbital welding equipment to a high standard to perform high-precision welds on a variety of materials, including stainless steel and exotic alloys
- Ensuring all materials are clean, properly aligned and ready for welding
- Operate all orbit welding equipment, inspecting all joints ensuring they meet all project requirements
- Perform routine maintenance checks on all equipment
- Adjust welding parameter to achieve the desired weld characteristics
Skills & Experience:
- SVQ in welding and fabrication or similar
- Strong experience in orbital welding with hands on experience of AMI welding equipment, autogenous and wire feed welding processes
- Ability to work independently
- Participate in training programs to enhance skills and experience related to orbital welding technologies
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Using your own initiative and leadership skills for preparing training plans, welding portfolios and managing toolbox talks
