Payroll Supervisor - Aberdeen

2020 Recruitment are working with one of our engineering clients who are looking to add a Payroll Supervisor to their UK team based in Aberdeen.

This is a 6-month contract that offers a hybrid working schedule with 3 days in the office and 2 working from home.

If you are experienced in delivering a UK Payroll of a large employee base and managing the delivery of that payroll, then this may be the role for you.

The Role

The UK Payroll Manager role is to manage and maintain the full payroll delivery of the monthly payroll cycle to all employees in the UK, acting as lead for Payroll matters.

The role will directly coordinate payroll administrators in the support of the payroll and will work in partnership with a payroll outsource provider as part of the total payroll solution.

The role will be responsible for all aspects of UK payroll’s ongoing provision and business requirements and will work in partnership with the rest of the HR Services Team to ensure the operations are run efficiently and fit for purpose.

Duties & Responsibilities

As the Payroll Supervisor your duties and responsibilities will include the following:

  • Ensuring the timely and accurate processing of the main monthly UK country payroll run.
  • To act as the company’s lead on UK payroll legislation and process queries.
  • Accountable for the sign off for the country payroll and change requests which impact payroll processing setup and processes.
  • Directly manage the UK Payroll Administrators in support of payroll processes and successful monthly delivery.
  • To work in partnership with a payroll systems provider with the ongoing payroll delivery and payroll changes required.
  • Provide appropriate liaison with the government authorities on the provision of required reporting, annual submissions, or general ongoing interactions.
  • Ensure the appropriate interactions and working relationships with key business stakeholders such as HR, Finance and ADP.
  • Providing all necessary payroll output for internal financial reporting and accounting, government reporting and third-party requirements.
  • Responsible for the appropriate management and protection of the business’s payroll and employee related data as involved in the total end to end payroll process, with awareness of data protection laws such as GDPR.
  • To ensure data quality in performing regular reconciliation audits against dependent payroll data.
  • Interfacing with the business third party payroll vendors as appropriate.

Requirements

To be considered for the Payroll Supervisor position you must have the following skills & experience:

  • Delivering a UK Payroll of a large employee base and managing other team members in the delivery of that payroll.
  • Minimum 3 to 5 years’ experience.
  • ADP / SAP Payroll
  • Good data handling skills in MS Excel relating to processing.
  • General Computer literacy (including good command of Microsoft Office: Excel, Word, Outlook
  • Proven experience to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
  • Work under own recognisance and time management to ensure an efficient service delivery.
  • Able to lead a team, providing the requires levels of development and coaching.
  • To have a keen eye for data and process/task efficiency.
  • Proactive in nature in suggestions for improvements or better ways of working.
  • Good communication skills with the confidence to have dialogue with colleagues at senior levels.
