Plant Operator

2020 Recruitment are working with an established industrial gases client who are looking to add a Plant Operator to their depot in Aberdeen.
The successful candidate will support the safe and efficient filling, handling and loading of gas cylinders, ensuring all activities follow operating procedures and meet quality and safety standards.
The Role
As the Plant Operator, you will operate filling equipment, pumps and associated machinery, connect cylinders to filling points and prepare cylinders for storage and dispatch.
You will also carry out product checks, maintain accurate records and report equipment faults, quality concerns or unsafe conditions.
Duties & Responsibilities
As the Plant Operator, your duties will include:

Operating cylinder filling equipment, electrical motors, cryogenic and non-cryogenic pumps.

Moving and connecting cylinders to filling points.

Using a forklift truck to support loading activities.
-
Loading cylinders into pallets and onto delivery vehicles.
-
Inspecting, cleaning, painting and labelling cylinders.
-
Carrying out minor cylinder repairs in line with operating procedures.

Checking incoming products for conformity.
-
Analysing starting and finished products to ensure they meet specification.
-
Carrying out calibration checks on analytical instruments.
-
Completing accurate and legible process and quality documentation.

Reporting operational faults and issues affecting production or product purity.

Following safe working procedures and wearing the required PPE.

Supporting the safety and environmental welfare of yourself and colleagues.
Requirements
To be considered for the Plant Operator position, you should have:

A practical approach to work and the ability to follow operating procedures.

Strong attention to detail when checking products and completing documentation.
-
A good understanding of workplace health and safety.
-
The ability to identify and report faults, quality concerns and unsafe conditions.
-
A reliable approach and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

Confidence using computerised equipment and recording information.
-
The right to work in the UK.
Previous experience within plant operations, production, industrial gases, cylinder handling or forklift operation would be advantageous.
