Power Station Operator - Fife

2020 Recruitment are working with a Fife based Biomass Station who are looking to add a Power Station Operator to their team on a permanent contract.

The successful candidate will be working in all areas of the facility including at heights and confined spaces.

As the Power Station Operator you will also be trained in First Aid, Counterbalance Forklift, Mechanical Engineering, and various others.

To be considered for this position it is essential that you have access to your own transport and be physically able to undertake physical labour.

The Role

As the Power Station Operator you will complete the day-to-day operations of the shift team objectives to achieve maximum output, whilst maintaining the highest levels of safety. You will work a shift pattern of 4 on 4 off with 2 shifts being days and 2 being nightshifts. Both shift patterns are 12 hours 7-7.

Duties & Responsibilities

As the Power Station Operator your duties and responsibilities will include:

  • Ensure the safe working practices and procedures are adhered to within all areas of work.
  • Assist with the implementation of health, safety, and quality procedures.
  • Investigate plant problems and identify solutions.
  • Undertake routine and non-routine maintenance.
  • Operate plant and equipment in accordance with operational procedures.
  • Assist fuel operators where necessary.
  • Complete accurate and concise shift handover.
  • Always adhere to the SHE Management Systems.

Requirements

To be considered for the Power Station Operator you must have the following skills and attributes:

  • You must be a team player and willing to help where required
  • Physically able to do the job
  • Own transport is essential due to location
  • You must be willing to learn and undertake training courses
  • Strong communication skills
  • Good attitude
