Semi-Skilled Operator

2020 Recruitment are working with a global manufacturing client who are looking to add Semi-Skilled Operators to their Rubber Shop team within the Greengate Business Unit. This role will involve supporting a range of production processes and contributing to the overall efficiency and quality of the operation.
This position would suit someone with previous manufacturing or production experience who is reliable, enjoys working as part of a team and is keen to learn new processes and develop their skills.
The successful candidate will demonstrate strong time management, the ability to follow and improve processes and a willingness to learn new skills quickly. Good communication skills and a positive, proactive approach to work are also important for this role.
Duration: 6 months initially with the possibility of extension or permanent employment
Key Responsibilities
- Tube preparation including degreasing, blasting and bond application.
- Carrying out stator moulding duties across autoclave, REP and transfer moulding sections.
- Stator stamping, spraying and dispatch tasks.
- Completing relevant administration including route cards and production records.
- Maintaining good housekeeping standards across the work area.
- Ensuring equipment and work areas are kept clean, organised and maintained to basic preventative maintenance standards.
- Actively contributing to quality and safety initiatives and improvement meetings.
- Supporting wider production activities as required to meet business needs.
- Following all company, quality and HSE policies and procedures at all times.
- Occasional travel may be required depending on business needs.
- Carrying out any other reasonable duties as requested by management.
Skills and Experience
- Previous experience working within a manufacturing or production environment is essential.
- Experience within a high productivity rubber injection process environment would be advantageous.
- Good computer literacy is required.
- Experience with manual handling, slinging and lifting is essential.
- Strong awareness of health, safety and environmental practices.
- GCSE English or equivalent would be beneficial.
Pay Rate: £14.78 per hour
Shift Allowance: 15% for early and afternoon shifts, 30% for night shifts
Working Hours:
Monday to Thursday: 06:00–14:00, 14:00–22:00 or 22:00–06:00
Friday: 06:00–12:00 or 12:00–18:00
Shifts may operate as rotating early and afternoon, permanent nights or a combination of all three. This will be discussed during the interview process.
