2020 Recruitment are working with a leading engineering and manufacturing company who are looking to add an experienced Skilled Fitter to their team in Manchester.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a well established business on an initial 6 month contract, with the potential for the role to become permanent.
The Role
As a Skilled Fitter, you will be responsible for the maintenance, refurbishment and assembly of mould tooling used within a busy manufacturing environment. You'll also support basic machine maintenance and carry out mould changes to help maximise production efficiency.
Duties will include:
• Fitting and assembling new mould tools and associated equipment.
• Refurbishing and maintaining mould tooling.
• Operating manual machine tools including milling machines, lathes and radial arm drills.
• Carrying out mould changes when required.
• Reading and interpreting engineering drawings.
• Assisting with tooling improvements and modifications.
• Carrying out first-off inspections following tool changes.
• Maintaining a clean, safe and organised working environment.
• Following all quality, health and safety procedures.
What We're Looking For
• Time served engineering apprenticeship.
• NVQ Level 3 or City & Guilds Level 3 in Mechanical Engineering or similar.
• Previous fitting and tooling refurbishment experience.
• Experience operating manual machine tools.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
• Good mechanical fault-finding skills.
• Strong awareness of health and safety.
• Basic computer skills.
What's on Offer
• £20.51 per hour plus a 15% shift allowance.
• Initial 6-month contract with the opportunity to secure a permanent position.
• 36 hour working week.
• Monday to Thursday rotating shifts:
• 6:00am to 2:00pm
• 2:00pm to 10:00pm
• Friday:
• 6:00am to 12:00pm
• 12:00pm to 6:00pm
• 28 days holiday (including bank holidays).
