Toolroom - Assembly Assistant - Fife

Our precision engineering client based in Glenrothes is seeking to recruit a Toolroom Assembly Assistant to join their skilled team on a permanent basis. This hands-on role reporting to the Operations Lead will focus on the assembly, fitting, and maintenance of precision tooling, supporting production and quality objectives across the business. You must have manual machining experience to be considered for this role. 


Key Responsibilities

Tool Assembly and Fitting

  • Assemble and fit tooling components in accordance with engineering drawings and technical specifications.

  • Verify alignment and function of completed assemblies before release to production.

  • Support routine servicing and upkeep of tools, jigs, and fixtures.

  • Clean, lubricate, and replace parts as required to ensure optimal tool performance.

  • Carry out specialized tests and tasks following specific instructions.

  • Perform tagging, etching, and related identification processes.

  • Use precision measuring instruments (e.g., micrometers, gauges) to confirm dimensional accuracy and tolerances.

  • Document inspection findings, repair work, and maintenance records accurately.

  • Organise tooling components for scheduled assembly tasks.

  • Maintain up-to-date logs for tool assembly, maintenance, and repair activities.

  • Collaborate with production and quality departments to meet project timelines.

  • Contribute to ongoing process improvements and suggest ideas for operational efficiency.
