Warehouse Assistant
Location: Portlethen
Pay Rate: £12.71 - £14.10 per hour
Duration: 3-month temporary contract with the potential to be extended and/or become permanent
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 4:30pm (30-minute lunch break)
2020 Recruitment are working with our client in Portlethen who are looking to add a Warehouse Assistant to their team on an initial 3-month contract.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to gain experience within a busy warehouse environment. Full training will be provided, and there will be opportunities to develop additional skills, including warehouse equipment operation.
FLT licences would be advantageous but are not essential.
The Role
Working within the Packing & Despatch department, you will be responsible for ensuring customer, third-party and intercompany orders are accurately prepared, packed and dispatched on time.
You will also support wider warehouse activities and play an important role in maintaining a safe, organised and efficient working environment.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Preparing and packing customer orders for dispatch
- Checking shipment contents against pick lists, delivery notes and shipping documentation
- Ensuring all goods are correctly labelled, packaged and prepared for collection
- Supporting the smooth movement of goods throughout the warehouse
- Assisting with urgent shipments and meeting delivery deadlines
- Maintaining accurate warehouse records and documentation
- Working closely with colleagues across the warehouse and external carriers
- Supporting general warehouse operations as required
- Maintaining high standards of housekeeping and organisation
- Following all Health, Safety and Environmental procedures
- Participating in workplace safety initiatives and hazard reporting
- Undertaking training on warehouse equipment including forklifts, overhead cranes and VNA trucks
- Participating in an on-call rota and working overtime when required
- Supporting warehouse supervisors and management with additional duties as required
What We're Looking For
- Previous warehouse experience would be beneficial but is not essential
- A positive attitude and willingness to learn

- Flexible approach to work and supporting different warehouse functions
- Good understanding of workplace health and safety practices
- Reliable and dependable with a strong work ethic
- Willingness to undertake training and develop new skills
