Our client delivers exceptional craftsmanship across residential and heritage projects, combining traditional techniques with modern manufacturing capabilities.

With a reputation built over decades for quality, precision and design excellence, they are now looking to appoint an experienced Workshop Manager on a permanent basis to lead their skilled production team in Edinburgh.

 

The Role

As Workshop Manager, you will take full responsibility for the day-to-day operations of a busy, high-specification workshop, ensuring the delivery of bespoke furniture and joinery to the highest standards.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing and coordinating all workshop activities, ensuring projects are delivered on time and to specification
  • Leading, mentoring and developing a team of highly skilled cabinet makers and joiners
  • Overseeing production planning, workflow and resource allocation
  • Maintaining exceptional standards of craftsmanship, quality control and finishing
  • Working closely with design, project management and installation teams to ensure seamless delivery
  • Managing materials, machinery and workshop health & safety compliance
  • Driving continuous improvement across processes, efficiency and output
 

About You

  • Proven experience in a Workshop Manager / Production Manager role within high-end bespoke furniture, cabinet making or architectural joinery
  • Strong background working with luxury, custom-made furniture or interiors
  • Excellent technical knowledge of joinery, cabinet making and manufacturing processes
  • A hands-on leader with the ability to motivate and manage skilled craftspeople
  • Strong organisational and problem-solving skills
  • A keen eye for detail and a genuine passion for quality craftsmanship
  • Experience working on bespoke, one-off or small batch projects (essential)
